"Queen of Bees" Greeting Card
“Queen of Bees” – one of my special debut paintings for FaerieCon 2012. The original itself sold at the show but I have prints & posters available! There is a slightly sinister feel to this Rococo style portrait of a beautiful queen and her bees. There are a lot of little bee details in here as well as historical portraiture references – she is wearing a replica of a Minoan bee pendant from ancient Crete, Napoleon's “Bee with Laurels” imagery, a lot of fun stuff packed in here. I also love the bees themselves – you can even see some honeycombs peeking out from underneath her skirts! This is my own original acrylic painting.

"Les Vampires: Lanterne-Citrouille" Postcard
The first in my new series of paintings called “Les Vampires” (which is French for The Vampires) – a new line of paintings that feature vampire beauties inspired by French rococo and baroque themes and aesthetics. These will also be part of my upcoming Vampire tarot/oracle deck I've been commissioned to work on, being published next year. This first painting is called “Les Vampires: Lanterne-Citrouille” (which means “pumpkin lantern”) she is simply lovely! And with the pumpkin of course there are subtle Halloween-ish overtones (added to with the inclusion of my black cat Azrael!). There are also some creepy details in the rococo sofa the two sit upon. I went with a lighter more rococo palette on this piece rather than the bold/jewel tones I normally would put on a vampire/halloween painting, and I think I rather like how it turned out. My own original acrylic painting.

(2013 Fairy Tale Art Calendar) Philippe Fernandez
The original works of the Artist Philippe A. Fernandez have been crafted over many countless hours and employ the universal concepts of youth with the co-existence of dark and light. This invokes a starkness and somewhat foreboding look and feel that lends itself to storytelling. The products found here at Zazzle are extensions of his original acrylic paintings. For more information about the artist Philippe Fernandez, and his paintings please visit: (Gallery Page) at www.FairyTaleBuzz.com
