I made this image at first light while exploring the island of Maui in the Hawaiian Islands. I was drawn to how the beach mirrored the sky and clouds each time the tide receded, leaving a thin film of water atop the smooth, fine sand. The islands of Hawaii are known for the variety of kinds of sand on the various beaches that rim the islands. – Wayne G.
