Racing car speedometer, inspired by air-cooled 911 pinback button
This 911 speedometer comes straight from the seventies and was found on some of the most desirable air cooled racing cars of the era. The gauge features white lettering on a black face with a bright orange needle. The 73 RS, a very desirable racing car, had a slightly different instrument but in essence it contained the same information. Whereas the VW Beetle is perhaps the most well-known air cooled car, Porsche is probably the most respected on the race track, with specific reference to the legendary 911. It is important to note that Porsche won numerous victories at the Nurburgring, Le Mans, Sebring, Carrera Panamericana and other with their flat six engines. These air cooled cars made a name for themselves, mainly because of their power, handling and reliability. It is amazing to think that the winning racing driver would, on many occasions, have seen this speedometer in front of him! Any racing car enthusiast will immediately recognise this speedometer button. It will make an ideal gift for any racing driver or classic car lover, especially those interested in the legendary air cooled flat-six found in the 911!
