This vibrant case features the image of a strongly geometric red and white Pickle Dish (or Indian Wedding Ring) quilt by an unknown maker circa 1880. The quilt, which has been featured in Quiltmaker Magazine (July/August 2002), was donated to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in 1998 by Barbara Thomas. This case features the strong yet delicate design of the Cockscomb and Princess Feather pattern. It bears the image of a quilt, created around 1880 in soft pink and strong green against white background. An appraisal note indicates that the pattern is possibly a mid-west pattern dating from 1850. The workmanship is excellent and the uniform fading gives the quilt a soft look.
