The snowy owl is called by several names, Arctic Owl, Great White Owl or Harfang. The snowy owl male is almost pure white, while females and young birds have dark markings. This great white owl also has beautiful heavily feathered feet. Quebec, Canada has the snowy owl as an official bird. While the Ogala Sioux Indians consider the snowy owl represents the North Wind and the North. And many people recognize this white owl as Hedwig from the Harry Potter series was a snowy owl.
