Sveti Stefan (Свети Стефан), Montenegro Sveti Stefan is a small tidal island in Montenegro, near Budva. The island now is permanently connected to the mainland. The island is inhabited since the 15th century. It was originally a fortified fishing village. In the 1950s it was transformed into a luxury hotel-town complex. The last 20 villagers were removed from the island.
